Alfred Hitchcock once said, “To make a great film you need three things: the script, the script and the script.” But how do you write a great script for a great film? In this workshop, students will learn how to tell stories visually, stories that spark the imagination of their audience on the page and on the screen. Using a new vocabulary, including scene headings, actions, dialogue, transitions, and shots, students will write their own short screenplays, and constructively discuss each other’s writing. And finally, we will bring their scripts to life with professional actors at the WordUp Bookstore, in front of an audience of friends and family.
