The Elements of Fiction
In this workshop, young writers will learn about the elements of fiction in a fun, supportive environment. Each week, the class will study a craft element, such as character, setting, dialogue, or point of view, then the students will try their own hand at short exercises, practicing and playing with the given skill. Participants will learn how to give constructive, specific feedback to their peers, and also how to revise their own writing. The workshop will culminate in a celebratory reading for friends and family and a printed anthology of student work.
